The document root is the directory where you store your website files for a domain name. Since cPanel allows storage for several websites (Addon domains), then you need to have a exclusive directory for each domain name.
Your main domain name is based in the public_html directory.
Your add-on and subdomain titles will be based to their own directory within public_html.
After you make an Addon domain (or subdomain), you can find the Document Root within cPanel.
Tip: You can simply select the Document Root in cPanel to go to the correct directory in the File Manager.
