How to Change DNS Zones (MX, CNAME, and A records)

With cPanel 11.34, customers are provided accessibility to make some of these changes from within the cPanel. Please observe that this impact will only work if Reprise Hosting's nameservers or personal nameservers authorized with Reprise Hosting IPs are being used.

  1.     Users can make and modify A and CNAME details by going to the Easy DNS Area Manager which is discovered under the Websites area in cPanel.
  2.     Users can also make and modify MX details with the MX Access symbol discovered under the E-mail area in cPanel. For more details, please see: Regional, Back-up and Distant E-mail Exchanger
  3.     Users can quickly personalize SPF details using the E-mail Verification symbol under the E-mail area in cPanel.
  4.     Users can also add TXT details using the Innovative DNS Area Manager symbol under the Websites area in cPanel.

Reseller

With a Reseller account, any of the DNS area information can be included and customized with no restrictions; however, this function is only available if Reprise Hosting's nameservers or personal nameservers authorized with Reprise Hosting IPs are being used.

DNS areas can be customized in the same way as Shared accounts (listed above), but as a Reseller, you have a more highly effective device in WHM.

Checking DNS Records in WHM

To check the DNS Records in WHM:


  •     Log in to WHM.
  •     Under the DNS Functions section, select Edit DNS Zone.
  •     Select a domain name to edit.
  •     Click Edit.
  •     Look for the records that say:

domainname.com.    86400       IN      NS     ns1.reprisehosting.com.
domainname.com.    86400      IN     NS     ns2.reprisehosting.com.


The last aspect of each range is the value which must coordinate. If you have chosen to use your own personal nameservers, then these information should be modified to demonstrate those personal titles. Also, in the DNS area, these principles must have a dot/period included at the end (as in the example).

Essential Details About DNS Changes

  •     DNS area changes must be created where the domain's nameservers points to.
  •     DNS area changes are not instant; they need here we are at reproduction. Most information need 0-4 time, but nameserver information need roughly 24-48 time. For more details, please see our Propagation Periods content.
